Senac/SC

The year 1947 marked a milestone in the history of Santa Catarina as the year Senac was established in the state, as a private, non-profit institution. Since then, business owners from the commerce, services, and tourism sectors, as well as the people of Santa Catarina, have developed their professional skills through the courses and activities offered by Senac in Santa Catarina.

The organization's growth has kept pace with the economic development of Santa Catarina. Today, Senac is present in every region of the state, with a Regional Administration Office and 28 permanent service locations, including sixteen higher education units, two specialized centers, as well as professional education centers and Mobile Units. Due to its strong presence throughout Santa Catarina, Senac's Operational Units are organized by region and are located in the following cities: Western Region (Caçador, Concórdia, Chapecó, Joaçaba, São Miguel do Oeste, Videira, and Xanxerê), Southern Region (Florianópolis, São José, Criciúma, Araranguá, Palhoça, Curitibanos, Lages, and Tubarão), and Northern Valley Region (Balneário Camboriú, Blumenau, Brusque, Itajaí, Rio do Sul, Jaraguá do Sul, Joinville, Canoinhas, Porto União, Timbó, São Bento do Sul, and Mafra).

The organization offers courses across various technological fields, known as areas of expertise, including: educational and social development; environment and health; management and business; tourism, hospitality, and leisure; information and communication; infrastructure; food production; cultural production and design; natural resources; and safety and security. These fields enable businesses and society to access professional development programs in diverse areas, contributing to the growth of Santa Catarina.

Senac enables individuals to build solid careers by offering a comprehensive educational pathway. This includes initial and continuing education courses aimed at professional development; secondary-level technical programs that prepare students for specific professional fields and award a technical certification; higher education technology degree programs, which typically last two years and qualify graduates as technologists, professionals equipped with the skills required by the labor market; postgraduate programs; and distance learning courses. These online programs have been offered by the organization since 2010 and have achieved significant success among other Senac Regional Departments as well as virtual students from all regions of Brazil.
